Formal negotiations set to commence on NNC reform

Next week’s meeting of Napo’s National Executive Committee (NEC) will be considering news on a number of key issues which will help determine the way that Napo engages with employers.

These will include the initial response to the ‘without prejudice’ proposals that the Probation Unions have submitted to the NNC Employers within  the NPS and CRC’s who have all indicated that they wish to review their  relationship with the unions in a way that reflects the reality of the post- TR position that we all find ourselves in.

Make outcomes for Children a priority

This Moj report presents findings from the Millennium Cohort Study (MCS) written by Dr Alice Goisis, Dr Berkay Ozcan and Prof. Wendy Sigle from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

It describes variations in contact between children and non-resident parents, and use of court for settling contact or financial arrangements. The report also explores gaps in different child outcomes by their parents’ marital status and whether post-separation contact with non-resident parents is associated with children’s outcomes at age 11.

Mr Gove showing signs that he gets it on Prisons and Legal Aid but what about Probation?

It’s not often that anyone could claim that a Parliamentary debate was riveting stuff, but I will claim a first in respect of the one which took place on Wednesday night on Prisons and Probation as a result of a motion tabled by the Opposition.

It was markedly different from many others I have witnessed and came on the back of three other debates involving Prisons and Probation that have taken place in the Lords and Commons over the last couple of weeks.
