This guidance continues to apply to all Probation staff, including those working in prisons. Napo continues to meet frequently with the employer locally and nationally to promote the importance of health and safety for all our members, including those working in prisons, to attempt to ensure that the measures and controls set out in this guidance are in place.
If you have concerns that this guidance is not being adhered to in the prison where you work then please continue to raise these in the first instance with line managers and the employer’s Health and Safety Advisors, with the support of your Branch’s Health and Safety Representatives. Further advice and support is also available (including options to progress this nationally), to members and Reps, by contacting our National Vice Chair with responsibilities for Prisons/OMiC Ben Cockburn.
