Yesterday we reported that the matter of the incorrect identifcation of an offender as a former probation officer in the Channel 4 documentary 24 Hours in Police Custody had been raised with the television company.  We have now received the following response.

Thank you for contacting Channel 4 Viewer Enquiries regarding 24 HOURS IN POLICE CUSTODY.

We appreciate you taking the time to write to us. The term "probation officer" was used colloquially by one of the police officers filmed. For repeats and online we will now do an edit to ensure that the end card setting out Ms McCarthy's sentence states that she was a former youth justice worker.

The Mirror, who covered the story, have amended their editorial and Bedford Police have been in contact with Napo regarding corrections in their Twitter-feed.
