With the dissolution of the Probation Trusts and the future direct management of the NPS by NOMS/MoJ and the CRCs, the Probation Association is being wound up during 2014. The PA has published a document - A Parting Shot - the Questions Remain - to, it says, be 'a record of the position the Probation Association has taken on recent developments in probation, so that they are not forgotten when any evluation is mad eof the perido since the establishment of the Trusts ....'
It continues: 'The PA is closing down at the moment when the reforms start to become operational. There are a numver of areas that require continued scrutiny and some fundamental questions that, had we been continuing as an organisation we would have asked...'
