In last 13 months the FBU has fought tirelessly against the Con-Dem Government and its refusal to accept that firefighters will not be able to work till they are 60, despite a review commissioned by the Government that confirms 66% of all firefighters (and 95% of women firefighters) will not be fit enough.
Since September last year FBU members have had 46 separate periods of strike action, some lasting one hour some lasting 24 hours, however this is a significant increase in activity and the members are keen to fight for what is right. In order to defeat this government the FBU and the striking firefighters need financial support and solidarity.
