The Staff Performance & Development Report (SPDR) was discussed at a recent meeting between NOMS/NPS and the trade unions. A new scheme was introduced into the Civil Service on 1 April and it is related to pay - i.e. pay is performance related. Our NOMS/NPS colleagues were unable to quantify how this operates and the unions requested written details. Suffice it to say that it doesn't look over generous. If one meets one's performance targets then one gets an increment and if you exceed your targets then you get an additional lump sum which we understand is unconsolidated. All of this on account of the Treasury's stated intention to do away with automatic incremental progression across the Civil Service. Further details will follow as and when they are available.
