Probation’s evolving frontline: an oral history project
Histories of probation in England and Wales have neglected the voices and experiences of ‘paraprofessional’ practitioners who have occupied roles that do not require professional qualifications.
Professor Gwen Robinson of University of Sheffield and her team is seeking former probation staff who have been employed as ancillary workers, probation service assistants or probation service officers to contribute to an exciting new oral history project.
Participants should have experience in one of the above roles. This could be anywhere in England & Wales and any time between 1968-2010.
