Millions of people in the UK are trapped in low paid, insecure jobs. There are more than 1.4 million zero-hours contracts in use offering no steady work. Others, such as agency and casual workers, lose out on important rights and benefits.
In December the TUC is organising a week of campaign activities calling for an end to the growth in casualisation and the exploitation of zero-hours contract workers, agency workers, those on short-hours contracts and others forms of insecure work.
Decent Jobs Week will run from 15 to 21 December 2014. Core to the week will be a series of regional events taking place across the country – more information will be posted when it is available.
